The students of NUST College of E&ME have been making us proud over the years by winning P@SHA and APICTA awards since 2012; this year the College won 5 awards (4 Gold and 1 Silver). The Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA) organised its 15th Annual ICT Awards Ceremony on Sept 07, 2017 at Serena Hotel Islamabad. Federal Minister for IT Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique was the chief guest.
Winning Projects:
1. IIoT Based Industry 4.0 Compliant Automation for Manufacturing Industries
Department: Computer and Software Engineering (CSE)
Students: Tayyaba Taimur, Aashir Javed, Asad Tariq
Awards: 2 Gold awards in “Tertiary Student” and ‘Best in IoT” categories
Supervisor: Dr  Shoab Ahmed Khan, HoD CE
2. EKKO-A Wave Therapeutic Device
Department: Computer and Software Engineering
Students: Saad Bin Zahid, Zain ul Hassan, Muhammad Affan ul Haq Khan, Hassan Moin
Awards: Silver award in “Tertiary Student” category
Supervisors: Dr Muhammad Usman Akram, Dr Sajid Gul Khawaja
3. “EPIC-A Wearable Epilepsy Monitoring Device”
Winner: RISETech – a start-up by NUST faculty; incubated at EME Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (ICE2)
Students: Ayub Jamal, Tauseef Ahmed
Awards: Gold award in “Indigenous Services” category
Supervisors: Dr Sajid Gul Khawaja, Mr Ali Saeed
4. “RetroVision”
Winner: RISETech
Student: Taimur Hassan
Award: Gold award in “Best in AI” category
Supervisor: Dr Muhammad Usman Akram
