Dr. Afshan Naseem
1. Dr Afshan Naseem secured a sponsored visit to Finland under the International Faculty Placement program of NUST. In this regard, some of the advanced industries in Finland, such as “Nokia Corporation, Wärtsilä Corporation, Tietoovery Corporation, Demola and TechnoBothnia Industrial Lab, were visited. During the visit, Key People such as R&D Manager, Mr Akbar Javed (Nokia); Project Manager, Mr Johan Stromfors (Wartsilla); Head of R&D, Mr Iftikhar Ahmad (Tietoevry); CEO, Mr. Ville Kairamo (Demola) and the Head of Industrial Lab, Prof Petri Helo (TechnoBothnia Lab, University of Vaasa) were met and insightful discussion took place on the operations of the company along with the potential research collaborations with NUST. Moreover, the areas of improvement along with the training requirement were discussed, and potential collaborations are currently in the pipeline. |

Dr Afshan Naseem became a Master Trainer for the Online course development under the HEC’s HESSA initiative after getting extensive 6-month training from the University of UTAH (USA’s team). Moreover, using this expertise, she, along with 3 other faculty members, developed a micro-credential course on “Agile Project management”, that is now running successfully. | |
Dr Afshan Naseem has become engaged as a project consultant in developing a Projects Management Portal for effective and efficient management of technical, and defense vis-a-vis academic projects as well as creating executive dashboards for knowledge accumulation to synergize technology development hand in hand with industry and government projects. | |
Dr Afshan Naseem represented NUST and Delivered training to the Senior Officials of the top institutes of Pakistan such as the Pakistan Army, Professional Development Centre (NUST), EME College Training Workshops etc on the topics of Project Management, Research Methods Primavera P6 etc. | |
Dr Afshan Naseem was selected as one of the top researchers from the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and was called for an insightful session chaired by the Rector/Pro-Rector, in which the future of research in NUST was thoroughly discussed. | |
Dr. Shujaat Ali
Dr. Shujaat Ali attended the National Faculty Development Program (NFDP) training certification from NAHE, HEC Pakistan. He earned this certification after completing advanced training in teaching and learning, specifically designed for higher education. The program covered various topics, including Effective Teaching, Effective Learning, Course Design, Lesson Planning and Delivery/Microteaching, Assessment and Evaluation, Technology in the Classroom, Research and Grant Writing, Learning Management Systems, and Gender Equality and Harassment |

Dr. Asjad Shahzad
1. Dr Asjad Shahzad secured a sponsored visit to Australia under the International Faculty Placement program of NUST. In this regard, some of the advanced industries in Australia, l such as “Fresh to Go Food” (Food processing and manufacturing industry) and “Ensign Laboratories” (Chemical Manufacturing Industry) were visited. Some of the key people, such as the Supply chain manager, and project managers were met during the visit to the production facility and observed the process of production. Moreover, some insightful discussions of the areas of improvement, along with the possibility of collaboration with NUST in terms of research and training were discussed, which are currently in the pipeline. Dr Asjad Shahzad enhanced the internationalization initiative of NUST by representing NUST in International visits to Various Universities (University of Vaasa, University of Tampere, University of Aalto, Stockholm University, Tallinn University) and Industries (Wartsilla, Nokia, Tietoevry, and Demola) in Finland, Sweden and Estonia and initiating research collaborations with top researchers and professionals. Moreover, further international collaboration was developed between Australian Universities and NUST by inviting and organizing workshops for esteemed academicians of Swinburne University and Australian Catholic University. They imparted knowledge and skills to the Postgraduate students of the Department of Engineering Management, on the topics of Theory Development, Research Methodologies etc (Pictures attached with the name of FA- Ser No.5) | |
