Department of Electrical Engineering
The discipline of Electrical Engineering has a rich history of almost two centuries, beginning with the study of traditional areas of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism, and evolving over the decades to encompass communications, power engineering, digital systems, instrumentation, signal processing, control systems, and, more recently, nano-tech, robotics and artificial intelligence.
The Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) at College of E&ME, NUST, envisions imparting cutting-edge, high-impact education at the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels in the aforementioned areas, while imbuing students with a life-long quest for inquiry, reasoning and for creating tailored solutions to address the requirements of our society.
One of the pioneering departments of the College of E&ME, the DEE started its Ph.D. program in 2001, and has since awarded 13 Ph.D. degrees, while 17 doctoral students are currently engaged in innovative research under the supervision of our well-reputed and highly-qualified faculty.
The Department continuously strives to keep its UG and PG program syllabi up to date, runs cutting-edge and exciting electives, and conducts impactful research in keeping with our mission. At the same time, our students and faculty enjoy a vibrant and animated campus life by engaging in and leading various events and activities of academic and extra-curricular nature.
