He is currently a Product Design Engineer, Battery at Apple. Formerly, he has worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Intel Corporation and as a Product Engineer at Skorpios Technologies, Inc. He also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of New Mexico. |
Dr. M. Taha Manzoor graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NUST in 2016. He later earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (2016-2018) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University (2019-2023). He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta, where he is the founder and director of the Renewable Thermal Lab. His research focuses on high-temperature Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) systems. 1 He is also knowledgeable about traditional energy storage technologies and has assisted utilities in procuring battery energy storage systems. | ![]() |

He is an experienced maintenance and operations professional with a proven track record in the oil and gas industry, specializing in optimizing maintenance operations and ensuring equipment reliability. |
Dr. Sarah Qureshi graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NUST in 2000. She later earned an MSc in Aerospace Engineering (Flight Dynamics) and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering (Flight Propulsion) from Cranfield University. She is known for her pioneering work in developing contrail-free aero-engine technology. She is the CEO and co-founder of Aero Engine Craft (Pvt) Ltd., Pakistan’s first commercial engine and aircraft R&D company. Mr. Syed Abid Mehdi graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NUST in 2002. He is known for his expertise in mechanical design, specializing in boilers and pressure vessels, and his project management skills in the power and oil & gas sectors. He is currently the Assistant Vice President (Construction) at Etimaad Engineering. Formerly, he worked at Descon as a Mechanical Design Engineer, focusing on boiler design, and later at Etimaad Engineering in design and project management roles. He also worked at ICI Pakistan. |
Mr. Hafiz Awad Ahmad graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NUST in 2010. He is a results-driven leader with extensive experience in the power generation industry, known for his expertise in strategic project management, engineering planning, and operational productivity. He has a reputation for driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high standards in HSE, QA, and internal controls. His senior year project involved modeling, simulation, analysis, and fabrication of a hybrid car, and he won an award at the Shell Eco-Marathon 2010 in Malaysia. Mr. Muhammad Hassan Kamal graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NUST in 2005. He is the Chief Executive Officer at Sehel Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. and an expert in Piping Stress Analysis of Process and Power Piping, Pipelines, and Wellheads. He has expertise in piping design, including developing technical specifications, performing stress analysis, and overseeing construction support. He also has experience in material procurement and 3D modeling. He completed a three-month training on the Manifa Project at JGC Yokohama, Japan, where he enhanced his skills in flange leakage testing and gained experience with ARAMCO & JGC standards. Formerly, he was a Sr. Piping Engineer at United Petrochemical Co., an affiliate of SABIC, where he was responsible for all plant activities related to design, procurement, and construction. |
