Researches Technology Management & Engineering Education

Technology Management & Engineering Education

The Technology Management and Engineering Education research group operates within an integrated research ecosystem comprising two complementary subdomains. The Engineering Education subdomain focuses on understanding how engineering curricula evolve, examining pedagogical innovations, and investigating factors that enhance student learning outcomes and graduate competencies in the era of modern technologies. The Technology Management subdomain explores organizational practices, strategic management approaches, and institutional structures that enable effective technology adoption and innovation. While maintaining disciplinary autonomy, these subdomains interact within our ecosystem: engineering education shapes how future professionals engage with technological change, while innovation management provides institutional frameworks and organizational insights relevant to educational contexts. Our group examines these domains independently through rigorous empirical research and theoretical development, while also investigating their interconnections and mutual influences. This ecosystemic approach enables us to generate specialized knowledge within each subdomain while understanding their broader relationships. We are committed to advancing both domains through evidence-based research that informs practice, policy, and institutional decision-making.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

  • SDG 4: Quality Education – Improving engineering education quality through evidence-based pedagogical practices and effective curriculum design.
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – Advancing innovation management and technological capability building within organizations and institutions.
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – Preparing competent engineers and developing organizational capacity for sustainable economic growth.

Objectives

Engineering Education

  • To investigate effective pedagogical approaches and curriculum design strategies that enhance student learning outcomes, competency development, and preparation for professional engineering practice.
  • To examine factors influencing student engagement, retention, and academic performance in engineering programs, including assessment methods, learning environments, and support mechanisms.

Technology

  • To analyze organizational structures, leadership practices, and management strategies that facilitate effective technology adoption and innovation within institutions and enterprises.
  • To explore innovation processes, mechanisms, and organizational capabilities that enable institutions to respond to technological change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Ecosystemic Integration

  • To investigate how insights from technology and innovation management can inform and strengthen engineering education, and conversely, how educational outcomes influence innovation capacity and technological adoption.
